Many a day, I wake up and say good morning to my followers on Twitter and occasionally request they share a smile, hoping we can cheer someone up. This week Malawians melted my heart with smiles everywhere – my soul was at peace the entire time I enjoyed my first visit to this beautifully green country. I’ve never encountered a more friendly people my entire life, from the time we boarded the bus from the plane to the terminal until my departure, everyone was warm and welcoming.
I must confess when my boss informed me that I’d be managing Malawi, I had mixed feelings – thinking it didn’t make sense. Went to extent of putting forth well thought out reasons why it should be another East African Country – clearly God had other plans, and for this, I’m thankful. This week I was reminded God’s blessings can come in many forms and we should never block them! You see, my mind had removed all expectations so as to prepare for disappoint but the warmth of Malawians overwhelmed me. I was reminded how much a smile can truly make a huge difference🙏🏾.
I’m super excited to collaborate with partners to make formal financial inclusion a reality for ALL Malawians, for which Rwanda has provided a great foundation. On the hard days, I shall smile through because Malawians taught me no matter what may be going on, you can share a smile – great medicine for all our hearts😃.
Here’s to more smiles 😃.
