Hello. Thank you for visiting my site.
I am Lucy Nshuti Mbabazi, @LucyMbabazi as many call me. I prefer being called Nshuti or Mbabazi :-).
My purpose is FREEDOM. I am striving to do my best, each to work for the freedom of Africa by ensuring every African is digitally and financially included to access what they need to build, grow and thrive.
I particularly enjoy working with Girls in ICT Rwanda colleagues to inspire African girls into science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects through various initiatives.
I like a good runner’s high and playing golf.
Work
I am currently leading Africa Policy, Advocacy and Partnerships at the UN Based Better than Cash Alliance.
Based at the United Nations, the Alliance is a partnership of governments, companies and international organizations that accelerates the transition from cash to digital payments to advance the SDGs.
I am working with the African Union, AfCFTA Secretariat, Smart Africa Alliance and the Africa Development bank to make digital financial inclusion a reality for every African by 2030. When every African has the choice to pay and be paid digitally everywhere they go around the continent, and Women are equally served, I have no doubt, Africa will make giant leaps to the #AfricaWeWant well ahead of 2063.
